Collage exercises for "Now"and "Future".

Collage exercises - June 19 2020

Collage 'Now'- Ït's later than you think"
This collage is made up of magazine clippings, hessian, cardboard backing, corrugated cardboard strips to join over the hessian squares - pressed leaves from the park, feathers and a chalkboard tag with acrylic Moulton Metal translucent paints - coated with Mod Podge and gloss sealant.

"Future"collage - "Return to the Garden of Eden". made up of cardboard back, magazine pages, magazine clippings, feathers, vintage buttons, yarn and cotton wool/bandage - elements and a chalkboard tag.

The two pieces hopefully complement each other - the Future work creates more of a picture whereas the Now work is a series of elements.    The biggest issues with the two collages were the cardboard stretching and in reflection I should have used a canvas board for backing.

Covid-19 Collage exploration

Collage and multimedia work during lockdown 2020.  Not part of my course work but complementary so show the process used to create the work.    The finish dog  image was rubbed back to create a worn look.
The coloured image of the Golden Retriever was used as a template for a stencil -  I created the black and white image then cut out and placed on a recycled canvas board.  the background is painted and flowers from a magazine added to the scene.
Added elements of text to finish the piece.  The work is supposed to resemble a vintage calendar page.
