A bit of history with new Map designs and assets for Tango Mango and Harvey Bramble

My studio  interactive dolls and cabinet 2019
The ideas for the Poogies were born here....

The dolls were collected for upcycling but proved a great attraction for visitors

Origins of the Tango Mango & Harvey Bramble story.

Building a map and assets for the world of Tango and Harvey

Map of world

Building assets is time consuming and immensely fun as a whole world from imagination has to somehow transfer to a visual image for a viewer or reader.

I began creating the characters and back story drawings  in 2019 and refined or redefined  in 2020 combining what I think are characters that work well together.  Tango Mango was one of the original dog tribe members who I had developed as a heroic figure.  I considered magical powers but decided in the end Tango was an ordinary dog with a kind heart and imagination to be used to help get Harvey Bramble home.
Harvey Bramble, the lost Poogie cannot use the magical door that leads to tunnels under the mountains to get home.  His key is broken so he bravely asks Tango if she knows a way.  Poogies travel back and forth recycling and cleaning up the Rustlands region of their world.
The animation sequences will show a series of attempts to get Harvey home using a hot air ballon, it’s a long way but Tango is up for the adventure.

The following images are my work that have contributed to the concept of a trans media project for 2020.

Mixed media, print, collage and drawing from 2019, starts to show the Rustlands region,  I screenprinted an image and added to it to create the decaying dystopian world where Tango Mango lives.  The night scene works well and could be used in a book.

Versions of Tango in various scale and dress.  All made from Sculpey.

Party Tango

Tango starting to look more like the final character design.

An early villain, firmly on the pirate aesthetic.

Suitcase diorama, a labour of up cycled and handmade love.  Pickles Poogie is Harvey Brambles predecessor.  Created from Sculpey and handmade onesie.  The diorama was a good way to explore and present a character in a gallery setting.

The shift to try create a book and stop motion animation has and is a goal and for me a natural transition of my creative work.   The idea to create a small scale  trans media collection that could be marketed to a buyer is an end goal.
