Talk before filling in forms - make sure it fits the program.

ICC funds - from rates.  Four funds  - Neighborhood Fund for small funds

https://generosity.org.nz/

Access through Invercargill City Library  - participants must be from city boundaries for funding.  this is quite limiting - would be disadvantageous to SDC residents.  Could look at holding a workshop at Winton or Wallacetown etc.

ILT - hotels, accommodation etc
www.iltfoundation.org.nz

 ILT Foundation (pokies money only)

Scholarships
monthly meetings
No funding for individuals  - no fundraisers (can't fund the fundraiser!)
Two quotes for everything

  • Be professional, keep accurate records - budgets not estimates
  • get application in well before closing dates
  • use a budget template to reflect true costs for project
  • The funder will provide a percentage of project.
Approach other businesses to see if they might sponsor and event or supplies for event eg Art Supplies Southland.

Partner with a local charitable trust who have a proven track record and provide support.  Expenditure should be transparent.  Keep all records and a separate account for project funds.

Koha, entry fee or donations should be banked not dipped into.
